What is Omnis Remote?

Omnis Remote is a new remote access tool, which will enable you to work remotely from a non-Linklaters PC or tablet. It is not meant to replace your Omnis device but does provide access to the core applications you need when working remotely. Omnis Remote supersedes Firefly, which will be decommissioned during the roll-out of Omnis Remote. In order to continue to work without interruption when you are not using your Omnis mobile device (Linklaters issued laptop or tablet), Omnis Remote must now be installed.

Personal settings and files will be maintained between uses, but certain options such as pinning applications to your task bar and setting up your Outlook signature will need to be completed the first time you log on to Omnis Remote.

There are two steps you will need to complete before you can use Omnis Remote:

  1. Install the Omnis Remote client to your PC or Tablet
  2. Please view the appropriate user guides below, which cover everything you need to get up and running. Please note that to view these documents, you will be requested to input your Linklaters email address and password.

  3. Identify verification
    Omnis Remote has an additional layer of security, which needs to be set up prior to using it for the first time. Please refer to the setting up identity verification user guide for more information.

    If you are unable to download the app to your device, you will need to use the Web Client. Please note that you are not able to Print from the Web Client.

What operating system do I require to use Omnis Remote?

Workspot clients are available for Windows, Mac OS, IOS and Android operating systems.The Information Security team require you to be on the latest operating system to ensure minimal risk to client and firm data when accessed via your personal device. My session has gone black and white, how do I revert it back to colour?  Windows+Ctrl+C
An application I require is not available on Omnis Remote- how do I get it installed on there? Omnis Remote has been created with the core applications included, but you may find that some less frequently used applications are not available. Please see the full list of applications available here.

You may make a request for an application to be installed on Omnis Remote via IT Support. Your request will then be assessed and made available if approved.

What is my Passcode? Your Passcode is a PIN specific to your device. You will need this every time you launch Workspot. If you are accessing Workspot from someone else’s devices, you will need to know that users PIN.
What is the Identity Verification, and how do I set it up? For security reasons, an additional level of authentication is required when accessing Omnis Remote. Please refer to the Identity Verification user guide for more information.
