In summary, a freelancer or freelance
worker, is a term commonly used for a person who is self-employed
and is not necessarily committed to a particular employer long-term.
A freelancer is a person who works freelance.
A consultant is a person who provides expert advice
In this section, we provide access to BOTH freelancers as
well as consultants. It is very possible that some of the
consults freelance (work for themselves) but many may also work for a
company for which they do not personally own. If you are super
curious regarding if the person or company you contact is technically a
freelancer or not, you are certainly welcome to ask them. Again,
this page may be a mix.

(New York: Stylist / Designer)
I went to F.I.T and graduated Cum Laude in 1998 for women’s sportswear.
Working at Donna Karan’s Signature design offices is where I first
got a glimps of what styling was about during showroom set up and showing
the collections. Shortly after I moved to
Paris and got a job as an Assistant Designer for Isabelle Ballu. I helped
cast all the models and styled all the runway shows with her. After about
10 months I accepted an offer at Ralph Lauren (still in Paris) as a showroom
Stylist and Decorator. I styled windows
for all of the big Paris department stores for Ralph Lauren. Galeries Lafayette,
Bon Marche and Le Printemps to name a few. Also,
every season we had to have the showrooms professionally photographed and
I did the styling for all the shoots. I
returned to NY last year. Since then I’ve
worked on a freelance basis as a visual coordinator for Prada, an assistant
designer for several fashion companies and I’ve travelled to Bogota, Colombia
as a fashion consultant to one of the biggest clothing manufacturers.
Currently, I still work with this manufacturer
as a fashion consultant. I would really
like a chance to work more in fashion as a stylist or even as an assistant. Belghanian@hotmail.com

Clare Nicolson: Clare Nicolson textiles combine digitally printed cottons
and silks with vintage fabric to create a fresh range of interior textiles
and accessories. The range includes cushions, throws, tea towels, scarves
and handmade greetings cards, many of which incorporate vintage fabric ensuring
truly unique designs. Designs for clare nicolson textiles are taken from
paper collages which she creates using decorative papers and packaging.
Inspiration for collages can come from almost anything; an old teapot, a
walk in the country, even the birds in her garden. Pattern is an integral
part of the textiles. Layering pattern on pattern, designs develop as each
new paper is uncovered.
